Flora's remarkable journey commenced when the creative team at Strange Cargo was commissioned to design unique giants for select areas, each intended to celebrate the local culture and community spirit.

On that enchanting day of Saturday, April 22, 2006, Flora, a woodland maiden, was brought to life. With the sun shining brightly above and the lush greenery of the surrounding woods as her backdrop, she emerged to create a magical atmosphere that captivated everyone present on her special day.

Towering at an impressive height of 12 feet, Flora proudly joins a remarkable family of giants that can be found scattered across East Kent. Each giant in this extraordinary collection has been developed in collaboration with local communities, making them truly special representations of their respective areas.
